Abstract
This study empirically investigates the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic on the performance of OECD countries in terms of macroeconomic indicators using a noval integrated MCDM model with MSD as an objective weighting procedure, LMAW as a subjective weighting procedure, and PIV as a ranking method. In line with the purpose of the study, six basic macroeconomic indicators are determined to evaluate the countries’ performance. Then, these two weighting results (MSD and LMAW) are combined with the weight aggregation operator to obtain the optimal weights of the criteria. Then, optimal weights are transferred to the PIV model. The results reveal that the COVID-19 pandemic has led to significant changes in the performance of most OECD countries. The empirical results obtained from this study can contribute to both governments and policy makers in improving economic performance.
